Movie References
I wrote this really awesome 12 bar verse using nothing but movie references
I won't stop til' I'm dead and gone
For the first time in my life I feel I'm more than just a pawn
It's pretty solid knowing that they're jamming you're tracks
I'm rapping like a rabbit while you're sleeping like a snorelax
Rorschach and I have a couple things in common
I'm Tyler with the detonator, smiling cuz I'm bombin
Living like a freedom writer, call me James Braddock
I'll probably walk the line but I'll never be an addict
I'm a superbad supertramp, a youth in revolt
I flame on like johnny blaze, not the Waco Texas cult
I consult my for brothers for advice they're good fellas
We're homeward bound rascals with a purpose and you're jealous
1. "rapping like a rabbit" 8 mile
2. Rorschach was an anti-hero type character from the Watchmen
3. "Tyler with the detonator smiling cuz I'm bombin" Fight Club
4. "Living like a freedom writer" Freedom Writers (best movie ever)
5. James Braddock was the main character in Cinderella Man (also the best movie ever)
6. "I'll probably walk the line but I'll never be an addict" Walk the Line - Johnny Cash movie
7. Superbad ... no explanation needed
8. Supertramp ... Into the Wild ...
9. Youth in Revolt ... lovely film with Michael Cera
10. "I flame on like Johnny Blaze not the Waco Texas cult" Fantastic 4; slight bud reference
11. "I consult my four brothers" I have four really close friends and Four Brothers is a bad ass movie
12. "Good Fellas" is about the mob. If you haven't seen it, you're missing out
13. "We're homeward bound" Remember that adorable movie with the talking dogs? I do
14. "Rascals" ... the Little Rascals was one of my favorite movies as a kid
This little verse was fun to write. I probably won't use it on my mixtape. Maybe one day I'll just write an entire song following the same concept
